What can Leadership in Science do for you?

Workshops for Teachers:
How can you learn more about effective science instruction that's aligned with the NGSS?
  • Short courses of 3-5 workshops, each examining at least one dimension of the NGSS
  • Focus on immediate classroom implementation - participants leave the workshops ready to put what they've learned to immediate use
  • Participants experience NGSS-aligned investigations, reflect on their learning, and plan for their students
  •  Workshops available in-person or online
  • I truly enjoyed this workshop. I have been teaching for 16 years and this was the best workshop I've attended. I hope that I will be able to attend more workshops with Stacey in the future. Thank you for 4 wonderful days of useful information.
  •         - Elementary Teacher, Jersey Shore Consortium
The 3 ‘in-house’ visits were the most valuable – seeing the lessons done in the classroom, then immediately talking about them helped more than anything else.  …it also built a comfort level with colleagues that I did not have before.
                 -Middle School Teacher, Warren Township
Collaborative Classroom Visits:
How can you tell if changes you're making in your classroom are having a positive impact on your students?
  • Classroom visits focused on formative feedback from your peers.
  • Small teams of teachers  visit each others’ classrooms to learn from and support NGSS-aligned instruction.
  • Teams are supported with protocols and collaborative frameworks that continue to support their work after the program has ended.
  • Collaborative Classroom Visits available in-person or online
Coaching and Leadership:
How can you support informal and formal science leaders in your district?
  • Supporting colleagues at different levels of interest and enthusiasm for the work
  • Creating and implementing action plans
  • Collaborating with the larger school community
  • Using protocols to drive discourse and support collaborative work with individuals, teams, or PLCs
  • One-on-one coaching available
  • Coaching and Leadership available in-person or online
I want to thank you for your continued support and wisdom through the last few years. I definitely have stepped out of my comfort zone when it came to taking on this role, but it was an experience that made me grow as a person and teacher.

We used what we learned in the Administrators' Workshop to calibrate what effective instruction looks like in our science classrooms. Our Admin Team had a better idea of phenomena-based instruction and it's used to support the 3-dimensional instruction. More specifically, after attending your workshop, our administrators felt they could provide quality feedback to teachers with efficacy. We also regularly conducted walkthroughs to align our thinking and expectations.
-Administrator, Little Egg Harbor School District

Workshops for Administrators:
How can administrators support NGSS-aligned science teaching and learning?
  • What to look for in an NGSS-aligned classroom
  • Supporting teacher learning about the NGSS
  • Supporting NGSS-aligned formative and summative classroom assessment
  • Communicating with the community about changes in your school's science classrooms
  • One-on-one support available
  • Workshops for administrators available in-person or online
I'm so grateful for your time and expertise today...I learn something each time about how to meet teachers where they are, and still be able to move forward productively.  Thank you.
